A rare large shrub or small tree seldom offered for sale. Definitely one for the plant connoisseurs out there! It was introduced by Ernest Wilson in 1908. Upright habit with glossy leaves, up to 20cm long, on long, reddish stalks. Clusters of greenish-white flowers in June. Moist but well drained neutral to alkaline soil in full sun with some shelter. Slow growing with eventual height approx 6m.
